Laura Degiovanni, an exclusive buyer’s agent at The Home Buyers Agent of Ann Arbor, was just recognized by The National Home Buyer’s Association with the Cutest Home Purchase Award for a recent transaction in which she helped her home buyer clients find a 1930s craftsman home and negotiated a purchase price at several thousand dollars below its appraised value.
“Laura has been helping home buyers with us for years, and she has received many savings awards over that time, but this situation was unique. As the only full fiduciary buyer's agent in southeastern Michigan, we actually review transactions together in our office meetings. We saw Laura help this home-buying couple avoid buying some bad homes in Livingston County, but when she wrote an offer on this one, we were all impressed by it. It wasn't large or fancy, but it looked like it would provide a great quality of living, and it was very cute," said Jon Boyd, managing broker for The Home Buyer's Agent, where Degiovanni works.
“We were a bit nervous for her buyers when some strange issues came up during the home inspection, but Laura was able to work through those and even purchase the home for sixty-five hundred dollars below the appraised value. When the deal was done and the dust cleared all of our agents reacted on what a cute home it was.”
Along with the award from the National Home Buyer’s Association, Laura received a five-hundred-dollar bonus from her brokerage. “Once again, Laura did an outstanding job for our clients, and we want to recognize that”, Boyd said.
